MHP appears in Barış Boyun file: 'He would have been arrested if he weren't a deputy chairman,' he said on the phone

Striking findings were included in the file prepared by the Milan prosecutor's office following the capture of crime syndicate leader Barış Boyun in Italy on May 22, 2024. The MHP was also mentioned in Barış Boyun's phone conversations, which were included in the file containing his calls with organization members. 

On January 19, 2024, Barış Boyun mentions two names. The individuals, whose surnames are not written, are named Ferhat and Nazım. Barış Boyun tells the person on the other end, “Ferhat and Nazım are leading the MHP's Istanbul coordination. He is a deputy chairman; they didn't do anything. They just came to ask him for information. I hope the other side doesn't report it. I heard everyone was talking about this, and when that happens, it reaches the ears of the police. I had a similar incident in Ordu; a man took our brother's shipyard with fake things, and we had this chatterbox shot, and he agreed to give us the shipyard and pay the fine,” he says. 

In another phone conversation he had on the same day, Barış Boyun mentions Ferhat and the MHP again. Regarding the person named Ferhat, whose surname is not included in the Milan prosecutor's file, it is stated in the investigation file that Barış Boyun said, “If he weren't the deputy chairman of the MHP Istanbul coordination, they would have arrested Ferhat.” 

CAPTURED ON MAY 22

Barış Boyun, whose name has been mentioned in many armed attacks in Turkey and Europe and who has had murders committed in the middle of the street, was captured in the Italian city of Viterbo on May 22. It was reported that the operation was carried out by a team consisting of Italian and Turkish police. Boyun faces charges of 'establishing an organized crime syndicate,' 'establishing an armed gang for the purpose of murder,' 'assault,' 'illegal possession of weapons and explosives,' 'arms trafficking,' 'drug trafficking,' 'murder,' and 'illegal immigration.'

Barış Boyun's name had re-entered the Turkish agenda with his capture in Italy in 2022. It was known that the Barış Boyun organized crime syndicate was responsible for many armed attacks in Turkey and abroad. In this series of murders, executions were carried out in the middle of the street, and bloody actions were signed in the struggle between drug barons.

The assassination method most used by the Barış Boyun gang was motorcycle-riding hitmen. The Boyun gang gunned down Jovan Vukotiç, the leader of the Serbian Skaljari Crime Syndicate, while he was in traffic, and Emircan Yılmaz, one of the important names of the Boyuns, was killed in Georgia in 2022. Moreover, six people affiliated with the Boyuns were gunned down in Athens, the capital of Greece.

BARIŞ BOYUN FILE PREPARED IN ITALY

A comprehensive file was prepared by the Milan prosecutor's office after Barış Boyun, who is active in many countries, was captured in Italy.

The file included findings that Barış Boyun was engaged in massive drug production and trafficking in Europe. According to information obtained by the Milan prosecutor's office from Barış Boyun's phone records, the Boyun organization had practically set up a factory in Bulgaria for the production of the drug pill called 'MDMA'.

It was stated that besides Bulgaria, Barış Boyun also produced drugs in Istanbul and sold them in European countries. It was pointed out that he traded the drug pills he produced in Istanbul at the same cost as drugs produced in the Netherlands.

It was stated that the center of Barış Boyun's drug trade in Turkey was the Ambarlı Port.

HE HAS A WEAPONS DEPOT IN SWITZERLAND

According to the findings of the Milan prosecutor's office, Barış Boyun and his organization were also in a serious position in the arms trade in Europe. According to the information obtained, Barış Boyun would take payment in weapons if cash was not provided in drug trades or collections.

According to the prosecutor's office's findings, Barış Boyun was an arms dealer alongside drugs and was trading weapons in many European countries. Barış Boyun's depot for machine guns and weapons such as M16s, Uzis, and Glocks was in Switzerland. According to the prosecutor's office's statements, Barış Boyun could have assassinations carried out in any country in Europe with his massive arsenal and people affiliated with the organization.

It was included in the prosecutor's file that Barış Boyun even produced custom-made gold-plated weapons for his customers in Europe.

'HE CAN ARM HIS MEN IN EUROPE'

According to the report by Furkan Karabay from 10Haber, the Italian prosecutor's office described the capacity of the Barış Boyun organization with the following statements:

“It is extremely important in terms of clearly showing how transnational the crime syndicate's access to firearms is and that it covers many European countries. The organization is active in Greece, and as we saw later, in Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Italy, and Belgium. The organization has active or dormant cells across Europe, and all these cells can easily obtain various types of firearms to commit various crimes or simply to defend themselves.

Using locations on mobile phones, Boyun arranges for some of his men to deliver and supply the necessary weapons and equipment for an unspecified action. Again in this context, the suspect's ease in finding and transferring AK-47 Kalashnikov-type assault rifles, bulletproof vests, and pistols confirms the dangerousness of the crime syndicate under investigation and Boyun himself. He can arm and equip his men for any need anywhere in Europe, or even anywhere in Turkey.”
