It has been reported that FETÖ ringleader Fethullah Gülen has died. Members of the organization stated that the 83-year-old Gülen passed away at the hospital where he was being treated.
Journalist Barış Pehlivan highlighted 3 important points following the death of the terrorist leader.
Pointing out that there will be infighting within FETÖ, Pehlivan asked the following questions in his post on his X account:
"One needs to look at three points after Fethullah Gülen's death:
- Who will control the tens of billions of dollars in capital?
- Who will attend the funeral, and who will be sidelined?
- What confessions will those who cannot secure a place in the organization's new management make?"

In a subsequent post, Pehlivan shared Fethullah Gülen's thank-you messages published for the then-Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and President Abdullah Gül with the note "Oh, how times have changed."

Fethullah Gülen was the leader of the FETÖ structure that attempted a coup on July 15, 2016. His death has brought many questions regarding the leadership change within the organization and the future of its assets.
Pehlivan's assessment indicates that the balances that will emerge after Gülen's death point to a critical period in terms of both financial control and internal power struggles within the organization.
