Bayram Yıldız, wanted by Interpol, captured in Albania

Albanian police have captured Turkish citizen Bayram Yıldız, who was the subject of an arrest warrant. It was reported that Yıldız, who was sentenced to 15 years, 2 months, and 15 days in prison by the Bursa 1st High Criminal Court for "forgery" and "fraud," was arrested at the Morina Border Crossing on the Kosovo-Albania border. It was stated that Yıldız was on Interpol's international wanted list.

In a statement issued by the Albanian State Police, it was noted that 39-year-old Bayram Yıldız was captured as a result of detailed checks while attempting to enter the country, adding, "While the Albanian State Police provides quality and ethical service to citizens during entry and exit, it also continues to fight against illegal activities at the border and identify individuals with international arrest warrants."

"NECESSARY PROCEDURES FOR HIS EXTRADITION TO TURKEY HAVE BEEN INITIATED"

The statement further read, "As a result of information exchange between the Kukes Local Police Directorate and Interpol, Bayram Yıldız, who was wanted by Turkey, was detained at the border and the necessary procedures for his extradition have been initiated."
