BBP Chairman Destici on the Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu case: It has given us hope

The first Central Decision and Executive Board (MKYK) meeting was held following the BBP's Grand Congress. During the meeting, the roadmap to be followed after the Grand Congress, organizational efforts, and current agenda items were evaluated.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Destici wished the first MKYK meeting to be beneficial for everyone. Congratulating the Hijri New Year and the month of Muharram, Destici expressed his wish that the new year and the month of Muharram bring peace and tranquility to Turkey, the entire Islamic world, and all of humanity, saying, "Today is the 1st of Muharram and the Hijri New Year. We are in the 1448th period of the Hijri year. First of all, I congratulate the entire Islamic world on their Hijri New Year and the month of Muharram. I pray to Almighty God that this new year and the month of Muharram bring goodness to our country, the entire Islamic world, and our Muslim brothers. Likewise, I pray to Almighty God that it brings peace and tranquility to all of humanity outside the Islamic world. Unfortunately, many Islamic and Turkic countries across the world geography, from Gaza to East Turkestan, from Crimea to Myanmar, to Turkmeneli, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen, are in the midst of occupation, blood, and tears. I pray to Almighty God that this month may also be a means for their salvation. I especially congratulate our Alevi-Bektashi brothers and sisters who observe the Muharram fast during this month. I pray to Almighty God that their fasts, worship, and prayers are accepted in His sight. The month of Muharram is a common holy month for all of us. Likewise, it is meaningful, valuable, and precious for all of us. May Almighty God make us among those who know the value of these months and days and live accordingly," he said.

"I wish our boys success against Paraguay"

Speaking about the national team, which started the World Cup with a defeat, Destici said, "Our national team disappointed us all in the first match by starting the World Cup with a score none of us would desire. But there is no room for hopelessness. We believe that the Turkish National Team, our boys, will make us forget the previous match on Saturday morning, God willing. They will continue on their path with a beautiful and decisive victory. I believe this with all my heart, and I wish our national team, the Turkish National Team, our boys, success in the match they will play against Paraguay on Saturday morning," he stated.

Providing information about the case, which has been ongoing for 17 years regarding the death of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu in a helicopter crash, Destici said:

"As you know, last week the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a decision of lack of jurisdiction and sent the file to Ankara. The file, including all the evidence, reports, court processes, witness statements, and hundreds of documents collected within the scope of this entire process, also reached Ankara yesterday, as you know. We have now entered a new phase regarding the legal pursuit of the martyrdom processes of our Chairman Muhsin and his companions, our martyrs. It has given us hope. It has given us hope that the incident will be resolved in all its details. We hope and expect that, God willing, with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office—starting with the Chief Prosecutor, the assigned deputy chief prosecutor, and the case prosecutors, whom we estimate will consist of at least three or four people—this process will be concluded by clarifying all doubts, uncovering the incident, and ensuring that those who had intent or negligence in this matter are held accountable before the court. We thank all the officials who contributed to this, especially our Minister of Justice, Mr. Akın Gürlek, who showed this determination."

"An early election is not on the agenda of the People's Alliance"

Stating that there will be no early election, Destici said, "I have expressed this before. As far as we know, an early election, as voiced by some journalists or some politicians in the public eye, is not on the agenda of the government, the People's Alliance, or our President. Our President has been successfully carrying out his presidential duties for approximately 12 years, from 2014 to 2026. The Great Unity Party community also stands by him. He entered the elections as the presidential candidate of the People's Alliance in the 2018 and 2023 elections and emerged successfully in both elections with the support of the People's Alliance. And since that day, he has managed and continues to manage Turkey successfully. He has high-level relations with both the vast experience and knowledge he has acquired, and with all heads of state, from the largest to the smallest in the world, as well as with international organizations, especially the United Nations. This has been a means for Turkey to overcome these difficult periods with minimal damage or easily in every challenging time," he said.
