BBP leader Mustafa Destici calls on AKP for 'support'! 'The state must cover the rent'

Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici drew attention to social support policies for families with children during his speech at his party's 2nd Ordinary Provincial Congress held in Çanakkale.

Emphasizing that the state must play a more active role in increasing birth rates, Destici pointed to the importance of providing financial support to families with children. Destici stated, “At least 5 thousand lira in support must be provided per child. In particular, our married women who work and have children should go to work 1 hour late and leave work 1 hour early.”

‘THE STATE MUST COVER THE RENT’

Touching upon the difficulties faced by working mothers, Destici stated that public regulations for childcare should be expanded and made the following assessments:

“Daycare facilities must absolutely be provided for the children of our working women who are of daycare age. A daycare requirement must be introduced for institutions with a sufficient number of female employees. Whether public or private. For those with fewer employees, the state should create shared daycare areas, opening state daycare centers in certain hubs, just like primary schools, to allow all working women to place their children in those centers.”

Arguing that current conditions lead families to have fewer children, Destici conveyed that working women frequently voice this situation and said:

“Otherwise, our working women say to themselves, ‘I am working, I cannot look after the child. One is enough. There is no need for a second or third.’ That is why we must protect families with children. If they are living in a rented house, the state must cover their rent. If their child is in school, the state must cover their school fees.”
