Bekir Aslan, known as 'Basel' on social media, arrested. 38 arrests following May 1st detentions
Of the 65 people detained in Istanbul on May 1st, 52 were referred to court with a request for arrest. 38 people, including social media influencer Bekir Aslan, known as 'Basel', were arrested after appearing before the duty magistrate.
A total of 217 people were detained among groups that clashed with security forces on May 1st, Labor and Solidarity Day.
During the action carried out by marginal groups, 28 police officers were injured, and 182 of the suspects who attacked the police with stones, sticks, and iron bars were released after their procedures at the police station were completed.
Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya had announced that new detentions were made in the “Gereği yapıldı-13” (Action Taken-13) operation, which was organized against those who caused disturbances in Istanbul on May 1st.
The statements of a total of 65 protesters held in custody at the Istanbul Police Department have been completed. The suspects were referred to the courthouse this morning.
38 INDIVIDUALS ARRESTED
Arrest was requested for 52 out of the 65 people. The prosecutor's office requested the application of judicial control measures for 13 people.

38 people, including İbrahim Hakkı Eren, Diyar Sarıkuş, Özgür Cihan Uçar, Metin Kaya, Yusuf Rencüzoğulları, Mertcan İncioğulları, Rana Karaca, Sait Çetin, and Mehmet Şimşek, were arrested.
