Berkay Gezgin, the architect of the "Everything will be very beautiful" slogan associated with IMM Mayor and presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, has been arrested.

Berkay Gezgin became etched in memory with the words "Ekrem brother, everything will be beautiful" during an IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu campaign trip in the lead-up to the March 31, 2019, local elections. These words from Gezgin became a slogan in İmamoğlu's election campaigns.

Gezgin was detained in Istanbul, where he had come to show support following the detention of İmamoğlu.

On his social media account, Gezgin had said, "I am going from Eskişehir to Istanbul, to be by President Ekrem's side," and added, "We stand tall against oppression and lawlessness. A thousand greetings to everyone who does not bow down. Hope is ours, the future is ours!"

ARREST DECISION

Gezgin was detained yesterday while participating in CHP's protest demonstrations in Saraçhane and was referred to court today with a request for his arrest.

The 22-year-old Gezgin was arrested by the court he was brought before on charges of "insulting the President" and "resisting the police."
