Bilal Erdoğan's interesting 'shalwar' remark: 'It's more comfortable, but when you wear it...'
Stating that his outward appearance does not reflect his own culture, Bilal Erdoğan, son of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, said, "Wearing shalwar is more comfortable, but when you wear shalwar, you are a bigot, you are reactionary."
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's son, TÜGVA High Advisory Board member Bilal Erdoğan, made interesting remarks regarding clothing culture.
Speaking on a YouTube channel he was a guest on, Bilal Erdoğan pointed to the suit he was wearing and stated that his outward appearance was not his own culture, adding, "Wearing shalwar is more comfortable, but when you wear shalwar, you are a bigot, you are reactionary. When you wear this (jacket), you are civilized."
"WE CANNOT ESCAPE THIS DILEMMA"
Erdoğan used the following expressions:
"Currently, my outward appearance is not my culture. This is, after all, the tie we took from the West, the jacket we took from the West. But this is what is accepted. Now, if I were to come out here in a vest, hang a watch here, and wear shalwar... I would like to, I mean, it is very comfortable. When you look at it, wearing shalwar is more comfortable. But when you wear shalwar, you are a bigot, you are reactionary. When you wear this (jacket), you are civilized, you are modern. We cannot escape this dilemma. This has been like this for 200 years..."
