Bill Gates makes Epstein admission

New documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice have brought the details of the relationship between tech giant Microsoft founder Bill Gates and billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, who was convicted of sex trafficking, back into the spotlight. In a statement sent to foundation employees, Gates expressed regret for his past connections with Epstein and apologized.

The statements indicated that Gates' long-term acquaintance with Epstein led to foundation employees also attending meetings. Gates stated, "I apologize to everyone affected by this situation due to my own decisions," while also emphasizing that he was not involved in Epstein's crimes as alleged.

The billionaire businessman also admitted to having had romantic relationships with two Russian women he met in the past. It was disclosed that one of these relationships was with a Russian bridge player and the other with a nuclear physicist. Gates acknowledged that these personal relationships were inconsistent with the ethical standards of the charitable organization and harmed the reputation of his institution.

In a statement made by foundation officials, it was emphasized that Gates has responded to all recent allegations, bears full responsibility for the process, and that the necessary steps have been taken.

EPSTEIN'S EMAILS AND ALLEGATIONS

While the documents reflected in the press include numerous photographs of Gates and Epstein together, the Department of Justice has also brought to light new allegations mentioning Gates' name. According to these files, some emails sent by Epstein to Gates contained statements suggesting that Gates had contracted a sexually transmitted disease and that a conspiracy was hatched to "secretly give antibiotics" to his then-wife, Melinda Gates. Bill Gates categorically denied these allegations.

Gates argued that the women in the photographs were assistants in Epstein's circle and stated, "To be clear, I never spent time with the victims or the women around him."

Stating that he was aware of Epstein's 2008 conviction in the past, Gates said, "I knew that Epstein had an 18-month restriction on his travels, but I did not examine his past carefully enough." Epstein was convicted of child abuse in 2008 and served time in prison under somewhat 'special' conditions.

'IT SEEMED ORDINARY AT THE TIME'

Gates stated that at the time, acquaintances through Epstein's active social connections were common in Wall Street circles. He said that the presence of many well-known figures at foundation meetings made the connections seem ordinary. "The fact that other respected figures were also present at these meetings made it easier for me to feel that the situation was a normalized picture," he said.

However, according to some allegations, Epstein tried to threaten and pressure the businessman by using Gates' relationship with Russian bridge player Mila Antonova.

In light of the developments, it drew attention that Gates accepted the assessments that his past relationships and connections with Epstein harmed the foundation.
