Bodies of those who lost their lives in the Kocaeli fire tragedy handed over to their families
The bodies of the individuals who lost their lives in the fire that broke out at a perfume filling facility in Kocaeli were received by their families during the night for burial.
The bodies of the 6 people who lost their lives in the fire that started in the morning at a perfume filling facility in the Mimar Sinan neighborhood of Dilovası, Kocaeli, were handed over to their relatives during the night for burial following autopsy procedures at the Forensic Medicine Institute.
The fire occurred around 09:00 at the 2-story perfume filling facility located in Dilovası, Kocaeli. While 7 people were injured in the fire, the bodies of Esma Dikan (65), Hanım Gülek (65), Şengül Yılmaz (55), Nisa Taşdemir (17), Tuğba Taşdemir (18), and Cansu Esatoğlu (16), who lost their lives, had been taken to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute Morgue for autopsies. While police teams took security measures in the surrounding area, the relatives of the deceased waited in front of the Forensic Medicine Institute for the completion of the autopsy work.
DNA SAMPLES TAKEN FROM RELATIVES
Following hours of autopsy work, the bodies of the 6 people who died in the fire were received by their relatives, who were waiting at the Forensic Medicine Institute, to be buried during the night.
It was learned that the identities of the deceased individuals were determined by taking DNA samples from their relatives.
