Bodrum Municipality issues statement on '3-step public beach'

Bodrum Municipality has issued a written statement to inform the public regarding posts on social media concerning one of the public beaches located in the Türkbükü neighborhood.

In the statement from the municipality, it was noted that the beach in question is the smallest of the 5 public beaches in Türkbükü, and it was stated that the footage does not reflect all the public beaches in the region.

The statement reported that until last year, there was an illegal pier in the area, which was removed through the joint efforts of the Bodrum District Governorship, the National Real Estate Directorate, and Bodrum Municipality. Following this, 3 new public beaches, including this area, were opened for service, bringing the total number of public beaches in Türkbükü to 5.

INFORMATION TO THE PUBLIC

Following a post made today on social media regarding one of our public beaches in the Türkbükü neighborhood, it has been deemed necessary to make the following statement to ensure the public is correctly informed.

The beach featured in the post is only the smallest of our 5 public beaches in Türkbükü. Until last year, there was an illegal pier at this location.

Through the work carried out by our Bodrum District Governorship, our National Real Estate Directorate, and our Municipality, the illegal pier was removed, and 3 new public beaches, including the smallest public beach featured in the post, were opened for public use, bringing the number of public beaches in Türkbükü to 5.

The area in question was converted into a public beach to ensure it would not be subject to different uses after the removal of the pier and to ensure it remains open for common public use; a public beach sign and umbrellas were placed in the area.

Additionally, a 180-meter section of the approximately 500-meter coastline between the Türkbükü Municipal Cafe and the Türkbükü Port has been organized as a public beach.

There are 150 umbrellas across the 5 public beaches, which have a total usage area of approximately 2,350 square meters, and there are sun loungers available for our citizens' use at the public beach in front of our Municipal Cafe.

The beach featured in the post is only one of the 5 public beaches in Türkbükü and does not reflect all the public beaches in the region.

As Bodrum Municipality, we continue our efforts to reclaim our coasts for common public use and to ensure our citizens have equal, free, and safe access to the sea.
