Body found inside a vehicle in Ataşehir! The mystery of the murder solved: The killer turned out to be her brother

The incident occurred yesterday afternoon in the parking lot of Fatih Sultan Mehmet Hospital. Workers performing asphalt work in the hospital parking lot wanted to move a parked car. Approaching the vehicle, the workers saw a woman in the passenger seat with her seatbelt fastened. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

DIED DAYS AGO

When the police opened the car door and conducted an inspection, it was determined that the woman was dead. As a strong odor permeated the area, the Crime Scene Investigation Branch teams conducted a long-term examination. Initial assessments indicated that the woman had died more than two weeks ago and had been there since that day. Following the investigation, the body of the woman, whose identity was initially unknown, was taken to the Istanbul Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for autopsy procedures.

IDENTITY AND DETAILS OF THE INCIDENT REVEALED

In the investigation launched by the Murder Bureau teams, it was determined that the body, which had no identification or mobile phone on it, belonged to Işıl Deniz Palabıyıklar. It was established that Işıl Deniz Palabıyıklar had hosted programs on television channels until some time ago and had recently been producing content online.

SECURITY CAMERAS SHED LIGHT ON THE INCIDENT

In their investigation, the police determined that Işıl Deniz Palabıyıklar was last seen with her brother, Işın Miraç P. Security camera footage was obtained showing the siblings getting gas for the car. In this footage, Işın Miraç Palabıyıklar was seen to be still alive and moving. However, shortly after this footage, it was determined that the front seat of the car, which entered the field of view of another security camera, was covered with a blanket and an automobile radiator had been placed on it.

DETAINED BROTHER CONFESSED TO THE MURDER

Following this development, the brother, Işın Miraç P., was detained and brought to the Public Security Branch Directorate. It was stated that the suspect confessed during his interrogation at the Murder Bureau that he committed the murder on October 22, 2023.

Işın Miraç P., who works as a foreman at a construction site, explained that they argued with his sister because she was doing programs on YouTube channels. Stating that frequent arguments occurred between them for this reason, Işın Miraç P. said, “I told her not to do such programs. She got very angry at me. We fought. I take care of my grandmother who has dementia. Sometimes I have to raise my voice during care. She recorded a video during one of these moments. She was telling me that she would use this video to file a complaint and even take back the house and car that were previously registered in my name.”

HE STOPPED THE CAR, MOVED TO THE BACK SEAT, AND KILLED HIS SISTER

Explaining that they argued for the same reason when they met on the day of the incident, it was determined that Işın Miraç P. stopped the car on a pretext while they were passing through Kozyatağı, moved to the back seat, and shot his sister from there.

HE PLACED AN AUTOMOBILE RADIATOR AND ABANDONED IT IN THE PARKING LOT

It was learned that the suspect told the police in his statement that he initially decided to take his wounded sister to the hospital, but changed his mind after entering the hospital gate, saying, “I will get into trouble.” It was learned that the suspect, who parked the car in the hospital parking lot, covered his severely wounded sister, placed an automobile radiator he found in the trunk on top of her, and then left the scene.
