Body of 14-year-old boy found in irrigation canal in Adana
The body of a 14-year-old boy who went missing after being swept away by the current in an irrigation canal in Adana has been found following search efforts.
Search efforts were resumed to find 14-year-old Yusuf Bedir, who went missing after being swept away by the current while entering a State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) irrigation canal with his brother yesterday on Bahar Street in the Koza neighborhood of the Yüreğir district.
Teams searching the canal, where the water flow was cut off under the instruction of the prosecutor's office, found the boy's body.
ONE SAVED, ONE LOST HIS LIFE
Following the investigation at the scene, Bedir's body was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue to be handed over to his relatives.
Syrian brothers Yusuf Bedir and Ahmet Bedir (13) had been swept away by the current after entering the DSİ irrigation canal on Bahar Street in the Koza neighborhood.
İsa Aslan (32), who was passing by the scene when bystanders called for help, entered the irrigation canal and rescued Ahmet Bedir, while Yusuf Bedir was swept away by the current and disappeared from sight.
