Coast Guard Southern Marmara Group Command teams dispatched to the area reached the shattered vessel following a series of dives.
Examination revealed that the serial number of the boat's engine matched that of the yacht named "Graywolf," belonging to Halit Yukay.
BODY FOUND
Following the discovery of the yacht, search operations that had been ongoing for days led to the recovery of businessman Halit Yukay's lifeless body.
The devastating news plunged his family and loved ones into grief.
The businessman's body was found trapped inside the yacht at a depth of 85 metres below the sea surface. Efforts were launched to recover the body, believed to belong to Halit Yukay, which was trapped inside the shattered wreck on the seabed. It was learned that the identity of the body would be confirmed after it was brought up from the sea.
DRY CARGO SHIP STRUCK THE YACHT
In connection with the incident, the captain of the dry cargo ship named "Arel 7," identified as C.T. (61), was detained in Yalova on Thursday, 7 August on suspicion of "causing death by negligence," and was subsequently released under judicial supervision by the court to which he was referred with a request for remand. The collision marks on the ship had played a significant role in the captain's detention. A forensic report requested from the Bursa Forensic Medicine Institute in relation to the case had since been completed; the report stated that paint traces found on the shattered yacht matched the paint on the dry cargo ship "Arel 7." The collision marks on the ship were also consistent with the yacht.
