The statement noted that the child's body, which was brought to shore, will be laid to rest following the necessary procedures.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On April 25, 15 irregular migrants in a rubber boat who requested assistance off the coast of İzmir were rescued, and a search and rescue operation was launched for 4 people reported missing at sea based on the statements of those rescued.
A Coast Guard helicopter and 2 Coast Guard boats directed to the area had rescued 3 more irregular migrants, including one child, from the water's surface.
A search and rescue operation had been initiated for one irregular migrant who was considered to be missing.
