Body of irregular migrant child who went missing at sea in İzmir has been found!

The body of an irregular migrant child who fell from a rubber boat and went missing at sea in the Karaburun district of İzmir has been recovered.

In a statement on the Coast Guard Command's website, it was stated that the body of the child, who went missing after falling from a rubber boat off the coast of Karaburun on April 25, was found yesterday.

The statement noted that the child's body, which was brought to shore, will be laid to rest following the necessary procedures.

WHAT HAPPENED?

On April 25, 15 irregular migrants in a rubber boat who requested assistance off the coast of İzmir were rescued, and a search and rescue operation was launched for 4 people reported missing at sea based on the statements of those rescued.

A Coast Guard helicopter and 2 Coast Guard boats directed to the area had rescued 3 more irregular migrants, including one child, from the water's surface.

A search and rescue operation had been initiated for one irregular migrant who was considered to be missing.
