Body with throat slit found on street
A male body with its throat slit was discovered on a street in the Yakutiye district of Erzurum during the night; one person has been detained and arrested in connection with the incident.
In the Rabiana neighborhood of Erzurum's Yakutiye district, citizens noticed a man lying motionless on the ground on 2. Park Street during the night and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
Upon examination by the medical teams, it was determined that the person lying on the ground had his throat slit and had lost his life. The deceased was identified as 45-year-old Erdem Özengiz.
Provincial Police Chief Onur Karaburun also participated in the investigations conducted by security units at the scene. Police teams apprehended the suspect, 45-year-old N.Ö., at his residence in the same neighborhood.
The detained suspect was referred to the courthouse following processing. The suspect, N.Ö., was brought before the duty magistrate and was arrested and sent to prison. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
