Boğaziçi academic protests Engin Altan Düzyatan: 'We didn't deserve this'
Boğaziçi University faculty member and climate scientist Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz has reacted to the news that actor Engin Altan Düzyatan will represent Turkey at the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will host the 29th session of the United Nations Climate Change Conference.
Scientists and politicians from around the world will attend the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held between November 11 and 24.
Turkey will be represented at the conference by actor Engin Altan Düzyatan, known for his roles in TRT's historical drama series. Boğaziçi University faculty member and climate scientist Prof. Dr. Levent Kurnaz reacted to the decision.
LEVENT KURNAZ PROTESTS
Kurnaz, who conducts research on climate issues, stated in a post on his social media account, "We didn't deserve this."
Kurnaz's post is as follows:
"This is one of the biggest mistakes we have made in the context of climate change policy. All stakeholders will use this against us for years. Engin Altan Düzyatan will sit at a table with 20 of the world's leading experts who understand climate and politics to determine the future. We didn't deserve this."
