Bomb scare in Paris: Unexploded World War II bomb found

A bomb scare occurred in Paris, the capital of France, at Gare du Nord, one of the busiest train stations in Europe. An unexploded bomb from World War II was discovered during excavation work being carried out approximately 2.5 kilometers from the station.

Authorities implemented extensive security measures due to the bomb, which was found around 04:00 local time. The Paris Police Prefecture announced that all train services passing through Gare du Nord have been suspended due to the magnitude of the risk. While bomb disposal teams were quickly dispatched to the area, evacuations were carried out at the train station to ensure the operation is completed safely.

French Minister of Transport Philippe Tabarot stated that the incident would cause major disruptions to rail traffic, announcing that only a limited number of trains would be able to operate during the day.

Gare du Nord, which serves approximately 700 thousand passengers daily, is a major transportation hub through which international lines connecting to countries such as the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands pass. Authorities stated that bomb disposal teams are continuing their work and that additional measures are being taken to make the station safe.
