Bosphorus ship traffic suspended

In a statement made on the social media account of the General Directorate of Coastal Safety, it was announced that ship traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily suspended in both directions due to a mechanical failure.

The following statements were included in the post made on the directorate's official account:

Our KURTARMA-7 tugboat was immediately dispatched to the scene for the 80-meter-long general cargo ship named SNP PAZAR, which suffered a mechanical failure in front of the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge in the Bosphorus.

Bosphorus ship traffic has been temporarily suspended in both directions.

TIME FOR REOPENING OF THE STRAIT TO TRAFFIC ANNOUNCED

The General Directorate of Coastal Safety provided a time for when the temporarily suspended Bosphorus ship traffic is expected to return to normal. The statement from the directorate is as follows:

It is planned for the temporarily suspended Bosphorus ship traffic to resume in the north-south direction at 02:30.

The ship named SNP PAZAR was safely anchored at the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area under the coordination of our Istanbul Vessel Traffic Services Center, towed by our KURTARMA-7 tugboat, and accompanied by our Pilot and MEHMETÇİK tugboat.
