Bosphorus traffic, closed due to ship breakdown, reopened

The Bosphorus ship traffic had been temporarily suspended in both directions due to the tanker named 'CORDELIA MOON', which broke down off the coast of Yeniköy in the Bosphorus while en route from Yalova to Russia.

For the 274-meter-long tanker, a pilot captain and the Kurtarma-8 and Kurtarma-10 tugboats belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure were dispatched to the scene. The ship was secured with the help of ropes and anchored at the Ahırkapı Anchorage Area.

Following the rescue of the ship, the Bosphorus was reopened to two-way ship traffic.
