Brand Week Istanbul has begun

Leading figures from Turkey and around the world in their respective fields, practitioners of groundbreaking projects, and thought leaders will address the trends that will shape the future on the Brand Week Istanbul stage. Brand Week Istanbul, by far Turkey's largest event, kicked off on November 6 with an opening party on the Paşabahçe ferry.

Brand Week Istanbul met its audience for the 11th time with workshops, film reading sessions, book signings, networking meetings, and certificate programs covering many different areas such as communication, branding, strategy, and sustainability.

The event, which hosts a veteran figure from the creative world as a guest of honor every year, features Uğur Yücel, an iconic name in Turkish cinema, theater, and television, as this year's guest of honor.

Sara Tate, a partner at TwentyFirstCenturyBrand, who will give a presentation on this year's theme of "Rethink, Recreate, Rebuild," will explore how those who recreate and individuals can reinvent themselves on the Inspiration Stage. Tom Goodwin, one of the thought leaders who argues that we need to rethink business models compatible with the post-digital age, took the stage yesterday.

Neuroscientist and author Dean Burnett will share his latest research on the human mind with the Brand Week Istanbul audience.

Pioneering names who put theory into practice

Prof. Metin Sitti, who has made breakthroughs in surgery with the micro-robots he invented and made a splash in the world of science and technology with adhesives he developed inspired by geckos for different industrial practices, will touch upon his latest work on artificial intelligence and physical intelligence. In another technology-focused session, Unilever Chief Data Officer Andy Hill will present a brand-new case study they developed with machine learning and achieved global success with. Another name who will address artificial intelligence solutions, one of the most discussed topics this year, will be Innovation and Technology Expert Ayşegül İldeniz, who is also known for her success in Silicon Valley.

Environment and sustainability at the heart of all innovations

While brands are rapidly integrating new technological solutions into their business models, they are also striving to construct a sustainability narrative around "brand purpose." In this context, marketing activist Thomas Kolster, one of the speakers at Brand Week Istanbul, will share the behind-the-scenes of genuine and concrete steps toward sustainability.

The issue of energy, which deeply affects the relationship between environment and production, will be discussed at the event from two different perspectives. Former Sabancı Holding CEO Mehmet Göçmen and energy economist Timur Topalgökçeli will discuss new strategies in the triangle of energy, production, and sustainability in light of the latest data they have.

Another name who will detail strategies that place humans and value creation at the center of progress and growth, Frank van den Driest, will share the findings of his latest research on Turkey for the first time at Brand Week Istanbul.

The future of media and platforms

Fatih Altaylı, one of the veterans of this field, will address the relationship between traditional media and content creation in the digital environment in Turkey and its reflections on society.

Kathleen Finch, CEO and Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Discovery Inc., which oversees approximately 30 US networks with 131 million monthly viewers, and award-winning journalist and "Top Gear" and "The Grand Tour" presenter Richard Hammond will discuss the current dynamics of broadcasting and content.

Media theorist Geert Lovink will share his insights on the future of platforms, how alternative social channels can reach wider audiences, and the impact of this change on advertising models. Storytelling on streaming platforms will be detailed by the architects of the series "Şahsiyet" (Persona): Onur Saylak, Hakan Günday, and Ateş İnce.

Science fiction writer, activist, and journalist Cory Doctorow will share in detail how users can reclaim and own the internet to build a new, good, and different one.

Behind the scenes of success stories

Chef Fatih Tutak, who received two Michelin stars at once for the first time in Turkey, Dr. Dilek Gürsoy, the first female surgeon to perform an artificial heart transplant in Europe, and New York Times bestselling author Patrick Sweeney, who will share tips on channeling fear into success and passion, will convey their inspiring stories and the keys to the path to success.

Different perspectives from different disciplines on storytelling

Anchoring success, inspiration, and transformation strategies in a powerful narrative is one of the important elements that determine the scope of the impact they will create. In addition to one of this year's keynotes, Vikas Swarup, author of the book "Slumdog Millionaire," Latife Tekin, who has left an important mark on Turkish literary history with more than 10 works she has penned since publishing "Sevgili Arsız Ölüm" (Dear Shameless Death) in 1983, and director Sahraa Karimi, who made a splash with her film "Havva, Meryem ve Ayşe" (Hava, Maryam, Ayesha) which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, will share what motivations they feed on while bringing narrative and fiction together during the most inspiring week of the year.

Where is the creative world heading?

The future of creative industries will find its place at Brand Week Istanbul with detailed presentations. Jon Williams, founding CEO of The Liberty Guild, which defines its own venture as an "association of artisans coming together for a common purpose" and only includes invited creatives; economist Guy Standing, known for his work on the "precariat," a new economic class formed by freelance and independent workers; Andreas Markdalen, creative director of frog, who will share his perspective on design-oriented thinking; and Publicis Worldwide CCO Bruno Bertelli, one of the most award-winning names in the advertising world, will present their predictions on the direction of the creative world at Brand Week Istanbul.

At Brand Week Istanbul, which will take place this year at the Haliç Congress Center, expert names from different geographies of the world and all developments that will shape tomorrow will meet with the audience between November 6-10.
