A clash broke out in Yalova during an operation against the terrorist organization ISIS after suspects opened fire on security forces. 7 police officers were injured in the incident.

OPERATION CONDUCTED ON THE ROAD TO ELMALIK VILLAGE

Teams from the Provincial Security Directorate carried out an operation against the DAESH terrorist organization at an address located on the road to Elmalık village in the city center. 7 police officers were injured in the armed clash that occurred during the operation.

INJURED POLICE OFFICERS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

Following the clash, the injured police officers were transported to the hospital by ambulance. It was learned that the police officers under treatment are in good health.

STATEMENT FROM THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE

The Yalova Governor's Office issued a written statement regarding the incident.

The statement included the following:

"In the area of responsibility of our Yalova Security Directorate, 7 police officers were injured in an incident that occurred during a planned operation against the DAESH terrorist organization.

Within the scope of the incident, Special Operations support teams from Bursa province were dispatched to the region to provide operational support. The 7 injured police officers were immediately transported to the hospital, and according to initial medical assessments, the injured personnel are not in life-threatening condition. Security measures and intervention efforts at the scene are continuing in a controlled manner with the participation of reinforcement forces."

On the other hand, footage has emerged of the ISIS terrorists setting a house in the area on fire.

STATEMENT FROM ALİ YERLİKAYA

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 3 police officers were martyred in the ISIS attack, and 8 police officers and 1 night watchman were injured. Noting that 6 terrorists were killed, Yerlikaya stated that the terrorists were Turkish citizens.

Yerlikaya's statement is as follows:

"In the last month, 137 suspects have been arrested, and judicial control decisions have been applied to 97 suspects.

This morning, simultaneous operations were carried out at 108 separate addresses in 15 of our provinces.

During an operation conducted at 02:00 at an address on Seher Street in the İsmetpaşa neighborhood of Yalova, fire was opened on our heroic police officers by DAESH terrorists. Unfortunately, 3 of our heroic police officers have been martyred. 8 police officers and 1 night watchman have been injured."

IDENTITIES OF THE MARTYRS REVEALED

In the operation carried out by the Yalova Provincial Security Directorate's Counter-Terrorism Branch teams against ISIS terrorists, 3 police officers were martyred after the terrorists in the building opened fire on security forces. Yasin Koçyiğit, Turgut Külüş, and İlker Pehlivan, who were serving in the Yalova Provincial Security Directorate, lost their lives in the attack.

INJURED POLICE OFFICERS UNDER TREATMENT AT HOSPITAL

Police officers Zekeriya Kınalı, Eren Çelik, Eren Işık, Cihan Kadıoğlu, Yusuf Irak, and Akşemsettin Temel, who were injured during the operation, were taken under treatment at Yalova State Hospital.

IDENTITIES OF TWO OF THE NEUTRALIZED TERRORISTS ANNOUNCED

A total of 6 terrorists, including Zafer Umutlu and Haşem Sordabak, were neutralized in the clash.

STATEMENT FROM YILMAZ TUNÇ

Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç announced that 5 public prosecutors have been assigned to the investigation launched by the Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the ISIS attack, and that 5 suspects have been detained.
