Breaking News: 35 arrested in Adalar Municipality investigation! Mayor among those detained
In the latest operation targeting CHP-run municipalities, 35 people, including Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat, who were detained on the morning of June 19, were arrested by the criminal judgeship of peace in a decision announced in the early hours of the morning.
As part of an investigation conducted into CHP-run municipalities, 39 people who were detained on the morning of June 19, including Adalar Mayor Ali Ercan Akpolat, were transferred yesterday morning from the Istanbul Police Department building on Vatan Street to the Istanbul Anatolian Courthouse in Kartal.
The prosecution's proceedings for Akpolat and the other suspects were completed in the evening hours. The prosecution requested the arrest of 35 people, including Akpolat, while requesting judicial control measures for 4 others.
DECISION ANNOUNCED IN THE EARLY HOURS
The proceedings, which were carried out in three separate duty criminal judgeships of peace, continued throughout the night. The decision was announced around 05:00 in the morning.
An arrest warrant was issued for 35 people, including Ali Ercan Akpolat.
MUNICIPAL OFFICIALS AMONG THOSE ARRESTED
Among those arrested were Adalar Deputy Mayors Hüseyin Yılmaz and Fırat Durak, Licensing Manager Funda Yalçınkaya, Municipal Police Chief İlyas Bayram, secretary Gülşah Bulut, civil servant Abdullah Çelikcan, architect Furkan Güçlüer, driver Abdullah Yıldırım, municipal police officer Talip Gülçiçek, Zoning Manager and geophysicist Neslihan Alnıak, as well as municipal council members Yavuz Çiftçioğlu and Mehmet Nuri Kaya.
