Four suspects detained in a drug investigation conducted in Istanbul have been referred to the courthouse. The prosecutor's office has requested house arrest for Bilal Hancı, arrest for Abdullah Gençal, and a travel ban and signature requirement for İbrahim Barut and Mehmet Üstündağ.
The 'drug' investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation for Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes against famous figures continues.
Within the scope of the investigation, İbrahim Barut, son of Abdi İbrahim Pharmaceuticals Chairman of the Board Nezih Barut; magazine writer Mehmet Üstündağ; social media influencer Bilal Hancı; and Abdullah Gençal, son of Huzur Giyim owner Turgut Gençal, had been detained.
Following the completion of their procedures at the police station, the suspects were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. After giving their statements to the prosecutor's office, Bilal Hancı was referred to the duty magistrate with a request for judicial control measures in the form of 'house arrest,' Abdullah Gençal with a request for arrest, and İbrahim Barut and Mehmet Üstündağ with a request for judicial control measures in the form of a 'travel ban' and 'signature requirement'.
