The Battalgazi district of Malatya was shaken by an earthquake in the morning hours.

The Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) announced that a 5.0 magnitude earthquake centered in Battalgazi was recorded at 06:20.

According to AFAD data, the tremor occurred at a depth of 15.59 kilometers.

Following the earthquake, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum and Malatya Governor Seddar Yavuz made statements. Kurum reported that there were no negative developments.
