Of the 97 students detained during the Nureddin Yıldız protests at Boğaziçi University, 15 have been referred to the courthouse. 82 students have been released.
Nureddin Yıldız, a reactionary figure who has made scandalous statements legitimizing violence against women and advocating for child marriage, was hosted at Boğaziçi University yesterday (May 13) as part of an event.
Students protested Yıldız being brought in as a guest. As a result of the ensuing incidents, riot police entered the campus and 97 students were detained.
Of the 97 students detained, 15 have been referred to the courthouse. 82 students have been released.
