Yerlikaya's statements are as follows:
"Everyone has started their duties. Action was taken regarding the initial response. This earthquake, dear friends, was felt in the provinces of Manisa, Izmir, Uşak, Bursa, Istanbul, Yalova, and Çanakkale. Dear friends, thank God, there has been no loss of life in any of these provinces, including our Sındırgı and Balıkesir, which were affected by the earthquake.
In Sındırgı, 26 of our citizens were slightly injured and applied to the hospital, and as you know, our Minister of Health provided information on this to the press. All of them have been discharged so far, and I would like to convey my best wishes to each of them.
Up to this moment, 507 calls have been received. Action has been taken regarding each of these. I would like to underline one type of call. 30 of them are reports involving damage. We have received 30 damage calls. As of now, 12 aftershocks of magnitude 4 and above have occurred.
Today, our Governor is overseeing the damage assessments. Education has been suspended today.
Our response efforts have been ongoing since the moment of the earthquake with 1,204 personnel from AFAD, the fire department, Gendarmerie, police, health teams, Metropolitan and district municipalities, the Red Crescent, and non-governmental organizations.
There was a disruption in electricity for an hour and a half, but our Ministry of Energy acted quickly and restored power. There is currently no problem with electricity. We also have no problems regarding communication. AFAD has 9 mobile base stations here on standby.
One fire was reported in Sındırgı, and this fire has been extinguished. As of now, there are no transportation issues in Sındırgı.
We have sent 25 million liras in emergency support payments for the urgent needs of our citizens.
I have presented the points we have reached to our President and received his instructions.
Our entire nation of 86 million has prayed for our citizens affected by the earthquake. The system is working. The system is working within the scope of Turkey's emergency response. The Turkey emergency response plan is continuously updating itself; AFAD has become a world brand. We are doing exceptionally well.
I have a small warning; in such situations, some information that does not reflect the truth and is not based on facts is being circulated on social media channels. In order for our citizens not to be negatively affected, do not take into account information that does not come from authorized sources."
