Breaking News... Another arrest warrant issued for Tanju Özcan

A new investigation has been added to the list of cases involving the suspended Mayor of Bolu, Tanju Özcan. Following previous arrests on different charges, an arrest warrant has now been issued for Özcan as part of an investigation into allegations of "sexual assault."

Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the duty magistrate judge reviewing the file ordered the arrest of Tanju Özcan and his driver, S.Ç.

INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED OVER "SEXUAL ASSAULT" ALLEGATION

It was stated that the investigation was initiated upon the application of Ö.Ç., one of the complainants in the "blackmail" case currently being heard at the Bolu 6th Criminal Court of First Instance.

In the complaint petition submitted to the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that Ö.Ç. alleged she was sexually assaulted by Tanju Özcan.

Following this application, the prosecutor's office launched an investigation under the charge of "sexual assault by abusing the influence provided by public duty, guardianship, or service relationship."

COURT ISSUES ARREST WARRANT

Evaluating the investigation file, the duty magistrate judge issued an arrest warrant for Tanju Özcan and his driver, S.Ç.

Thus, a new arrest warrant has been added to the judicial process being conducted against Özcan.

NAMES LINKED TO THE BLACKMAIL CASE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE FILE

It was stated that the relevant processes were initiated after Ö.Ç., who is a complainant in the "blackmail" case heard at the Bolu 6th Criminal Court of First Instance, filed a complaint against her ex-boyfriend M.E.A., Tanju Özcan, Chief of Staff Ö.N.Y., and driver S.Ç.

It was noted that judicial authorities are conducting an examination in line with these complaints.

HE HAD BEEN ARRESTED PREVIOUSLY

Tanju Özcan, who was detained as part of an operation conducted against the Bolu Municipality on February 28, was arrested on March 2 on charges of "extortion by coercion."

Following this development, the Ministry of Interior suspended Özcan from his position as Mayor of Bolu on March 3.

An arrest warrant was also issued for Özcan on April 4 on charges of "qualified fraud" within the scope of the same investigation.
