An armed incident on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge in Istanbul has paralyzed city traffic. According to Ekol TV reporter Çağdaş Evren Şenlik, an armed individual arrived at the bridge by taxi, got out of the vehicle in the middle of the bridge, and began walking with a weapon in hand.
The situation was quickly detected via security cameras and reported to police teams.
Upon the report, numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. Security forces spent minutes trying to persuade the suspect, who was holding a weapon. After intense efforts, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.
Due to the incident, traffic came to a standstill on the route from the European side to the Anatolian side, particularly in the direction of Ankara.
