Artvin Governor Turan Ergün stated in his remarks regarding the avalanche that they had received reports of an avalanche in Zekeriya Village. Ergün said, "There is a report that shepherds may be trapped under the avalanche. Our teams are trying to reach the location."

Stating that poor weather conditions are affecting the region, Governor Ergün expressed that teams from AFAD and other relevant institutions are making an intense effort to reach the avalanche site. It was reported that the teams' efforts to reach the area are ongoing.
