Bahçeli spoke regarding the meeting request from Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
"THEY MAY WANT TO INVOLVE THE MHP"
Bahçeli rejected İmamoğlu's meeting request, stating, "Since I do not approve of Ekrem İmamoğlu's politics, I do not find it appropriate to meet with him. They might want to use this meeting to exploit and involve the MHP in certain developments in Turkey."
WHAT HAPPENED?
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu had requested meetings with political party leaders in his capacity as the President of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey, following the appointment of trustees to the municipalities of Esenyurt, Mardin, Batman, and Halfeti.
