BREAKING NEWS... Chief Public Prosecutor's Office takes action: Tender files for İsfalt and Kiptaş requested

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested all tender files from the last 6 years for İsfalt A.Ş. and Kiptaş A.Ş., which are subsidiaries of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB).

According to information obtained, the requested documents include detailed paperwork such as tender bids, contracts, progress payment files, and payment records. The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office will investigate whether there are any potential irregularities or public losses based on these documents.

GÖKHAN GÜNAYDIN ANNOUNCED

In his statement, CHP member Gökhan Günaydın said, "A short while ago, two separate letters arrived at the İBB subsidiary companies İSFALT and KİPTAŞ from the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Bureau. They are requesting information and documents for all tenders and projects carried out by the companies since 31.03.2019. Of course, they will be provided. But let us ask: What happened on March 31, 2019? Why are you taking this date as a milestone and not looking at what came before it? Is the prosecutor's office affiliated with the Government or the state? This example alone is sufficient to show the political content and purpose of the investigation being conducted..."

Günaydın commented, "However, let us not stop there; let us give another exemplary instance regarding the inspection and audit phase. This time, civil inspectors auditing the İBB requested tender documents for 14 companies from the İBB with a letter dated February 24, 2025. When it emerged that 6 of these companies had also received tenders before 2019 (during the AK Party era), they hurriedly wrote a letter the next day stating that they were requesting files from after 2019, thereby admitting that they would not (or could not) look at files before the milestone (2019). In Anatolia, we call this 'shamelessness'."
