Breaking News: CHP Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki in custody
It has been reported that CHP Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki has been taken into custody. Eşki stated that he is not in custody but was invited to provide a statement.
The İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that Bornova Mayor Ömer Eşki and 3 municipal officials have been taken into custody on charges of "qualified fraud" and "forgery of official documents."
According to a report by Gamze Elçi from Sözcü, it was learned that Eşki was called at 09:30 in the morning and invited to provide a statement.
Eşki, who is understood to be at the prosecutor's office, stated, "I am not in custody, but they asked me to provide a statement. They will be taking my information shortly."
