The Republican People's Party (CHP) has withdrawn its appeal in the nullity case.
The announcement was made by Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the CHP's nullity management.
In a statement shared on his X account, Sarı included the following remarks:
“Our party has decided to waive the previously filed appeal regarding the ruling of the 36th Civil Chamber of the Ankara Regional Court of Justice, numbered 2026/32 Basis and 2026/658 Decision.
In line with the regular congress calendar announced during the Central Executive Board meeting held on September 10, 2026, the goal is for the Republican People's Party to complete a legitimate and healthy convention process as soon as possible.
The fact that Özgür Özel and his associates, who were parties to the appeal, have resigned from our party to form a new party has eliminated their status as parties to the case. Furthermore, because our party's regular convention calendar has begun, it has become necessary for the case to be concluded as soon as possible.
Considering that a lengthy appellate review could delay the convention process, this decision was made to waive the appeal filed on behalf of the CHP.
Moving forward, the Republican People's Party will continue its efforts to ensure the convention process is completed as quickly and healthily as possible, in accordance with the will of the organization and the democratic functioning of the party.”
