A collapse occurred during drilling work to open a water well in the village of Uygur, located in the central district of Amasya. Upon receiving reports that 2 workers were trapped under the collapse, villagers notified the 112 Emergency Call Center.
Health teams, AFAD, and fire department units were dispatched to the scene. While rescue teams have launched an intensive effort to extract the workers from under the soil, gendarmerie teams have taken security measures in the surrounding area.
STATEMENT FROM THE AMASYA GOVERNOR'S OFFICE
In a statement regarding the incident, the Amasya Governor's Office said, "Today at 16:52, it was reported to our 112 Emergency Call Center that 2 people were trapped under the soil in a collapse that occurred during water well drilling work in the village of Uygur, attached to our central district. AFAD, fire department, health, and gendarmerie teams were immediately dispatched to the scene and rescue efforts have begun; our Governor Önder Bakan has also arrived at the region to manage and direct the operations on-site."
LIFELSS BODIES OF 2 WORKERS RECOVERED
In a statement made by the Amasya Governor's Office, it was announced that the 2 workers trapped under the collapse have lost their lives.
