Istanbul Governor Davut Gül and the Mayor of Şile made a statement regarding the storm and heavy rainfall affecting Istanbul.
Governor Gül stated that the storm would be effective in Istanbul until 9-10 PM this evening and announced that around 210 homes and businesses have been flooded.
Governor Gül included the following remarks in his statement:
"5 of our boats and shops were damaged. We are conducting damage assessments under the coordination of AFAD. We will quickly determine the damage assessments and try to provide the support we can offer to our citizens in this regard.
Meteorological forecasts indicate that the rainfall will continue intensely until 21.00 - 22.00 this evening. After that, it will continue with decreasing intensity until morning. It is beneficial to be cautious. Our citizens should be cautious tonight."
