Altun's lawyer, Oğuzhan Aslan, stated in a post on his social media account, "My client and colleague Feyza Altun was referred to the courthouse early this morning. We are currently at the Beykoz Courthouse. We will attend her statement shortly."

In a post made from Feyza Altun's social media account, it was stated that she was referred to the courthouse with a 'request for arrest' and the following was said:

"Lawyer Feyza Altun has been referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace with a 'request for arrest' on the allegation of 'inciting the public to hatred and hostility.' The result will be shared with the public."
