Breaking News: Dilek İmamoğlu’s brother Ali Kaya detained

It has been learned that 19 out of 27 suspects, for whom detention warrants were issued, have been taken into custody in an operation carried out as part of an investigation into allegations of drug use and prostitution.

A new operation was conducted within the framework of a drug and prostitution investigation by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which also includes well-known public figures.

Detention warrants were issued for 27 people as part of the investigation on charges of "possession of drugs or stimulants for personal use," "facilitating the use of drugs," and "encouraging a person to engage in prostitution, facilitating the means for it, mediating for prostitution, or providing a place for it."

In the operation, 19 suspects were detained, including Ali Kaya, the brother of Dilek İmamoğlu—the wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu—as well as social media influencers Sevcan Güler, İmren Öztürk, Barış Barışma, Fatoş Derbeder, Melis Yürür, and Damla Kütük.

In the operation carried out by the Istanbul Police Department teams, a total of 19 suspects, including Ali Kaya, were apprehended and taken to the police station for processing.

STATEMENT FROM THE CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE

The statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the operation included the following:

"Within the scope of the investigation numbered 2026/22490, which is being conducted by our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Bureau of Investigation for Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes;

In accordance with our instructions, search, seizure, and detention activities were carried out by the Istanbul Police Department Narcotics Branch Directorate regarding 27 suspects on charges of Possession of Drugs or Stimulants for Personal Use, Facilitating the Use of Drugs, Encouraging a person to engage in prostitution, facilitating the means for it, or mediating for prostitution or providing a place for it. In this context, 19 suspects have been detained, and efforts to apprehend the fugitive suspects are continuing.

The investigation is proceeding meticulously."

According to the report by Mustafa Kadir Mercan, it is alleged that the detention decision was taken following an additional statement given to the prosecutor's office by Yasmin Yürük.

Yürük stated the following in her testimony:

"I want to describe an incident I experienced: In 2022, in Bitez, Bodrum, I met with Dilek İmamoğlu’s brother, Ali Kaya, for 15 thousand dollars. We had sexual intercourse. He offered me drugs similar to cocaine and ketamine. He said he could not have sexual intercourse without using drugs and wanted me to use them as well. He was consuming high doses of substances in my presence. He requested fantasies such as smelling my underwear, which I did not accept. These were the strangest experiences I have ever had in my life. The person who earned money from me in this relationship was a woman named Çağlan."
