Breaking News: Drug investigation at the Air Force Academy
It has been reported that several contract soldiers serving at the National Defense University have been detained on allegations of drug use and supply.
It has been learned that nine contract soldiers working at the National Defense University Air Force Academy Command have been referred to the courthouse on charges of using, possessing, and supplying drugs or stimulant substances. The investigation is being conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office within the framework of Article 191 of the Turkish Penal Code.
It was stated that while the suspects' statements were being taken, they were sent to the Council of Forensic Medicine following official procedures, where blood, hair, and urine samples were collected for analysis. Furthermore, searches and seizures were carried out at locations where drug use was detected, under the instructions of the prosecutor's office.
It was noted that during the search, prohibited substances wrapped in foil were found on the suspects. It was emphasized that the file is investigating not only the use of drugs but also allegations of supplying and facilitating drug use. Prosecution sources reported that the detention periods for the nine contract soldiers have been extended in this context.
It was stated that the suspects will be brought before a judge again today for judicial proceedings.
