Selçuk Tengioğlu, who attacked Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel at the exit following a ceremony held for Sırrı Süreyya Önder at the AKM, has been taken into custody.
It was revealed that Tengioğlu is a convicted murderer of his own child and had been released under judicial control in 2020 despite a life sentence; he was expected to be referred to the courthouse today. However, the attacker's detention period has been extended.
It has been learned that Tengioğlu will remain in custody for one more day.
