My dear fellow travelers, in foreign policy, sometimes a summit photo tells more than pages of reports. Sometimes it is a head of state arriving late to the table. Sometimes a sentence, disguised as if it were said casually, reveals a power domination that has been hidden for years, keeping its silence and waiting for its turn. Sometimes a parliamentary report reveals old hostilities, sharpened like a knife with years of grudge, hidden behind sentences of friendship remembered only when the fire reaches the roof, and gives away intentions. It is necessary to see what is happening from this perspective.

"TRUMP SAYING 'I AM THE BOSS' IS NOT A CASUALLY SPOKEN SENTENCE"

G7 leaders have gathered in France. The agenda items of the summit are quite extensive on paper. The fragile course of the global economy, squeezed between bombs dropped and agreements signed, the deep gap opened in European security by the Ukraine War, the uncertainty settling over energy routes and the course of world trade life over the Strait of Hormuz, and irregular migration concerns dependent on political and economic developments are all squeezed into the same photo frame. However, above all these heavy agendas, the words "I am the boss" spoken by United States President Trump as he entered the working meeting have left their mark. This is not a casually spoken sentence; it is a cautionary confession that shows the balance of power at the G7 table, the security dependency that has weighed on Europe's shoulders since the Second World War and which all these glittering Western glorifications cannot hide, and the true nature of transatlantic relations. This statement points to the distorted truth behind the curtain of common values, the display of power laid out before our eyes from the mirror of truth.

Europe has been talking about strategic autonomy for years. However, the same Europe has still not been able to remove its own defense, political, and economic architecture from Washington's shadow. The statements of the NATO Secretary General are clear. The same Europe is thinking hard about how to fill its own security vacuum at a time when the US has announced that it will reduce its military contributions in Europe. What a striking contradiction it is that Europe has been trying to lecture Turkey on democracy, law, security, and foreign policy for years, persistently putting into circulation accusations disguised as reports, threats decorated with hints of sanctions, and the stale clichés of anti-Turkish and anti-Turkey dissidents. In other words, Europe has seen the crack in its own house wall but has still not given up on the desire to nail reports to Turkey's door.

"WITH WHAT FACE WILL EUROPE ATTEMPT TO LECTURE TURKEY?"

To cover up their own weaknesses and lack of foresight, they are trying to cut a curtain for their mistakes from the fabric of reports, embroider pressure with the thread of accusation, and patch the chasm of double standards with songs of human rights. However, neither truth, nor justice, nor a will to set a direction for Turkey will come from this patched bundle. Let those who drift into dreams from the sleep of heedlessness hear well. Let those waiting in a fit of grudge open their ears and listen. The tailor who will shape the Turkish nation has not yet been born.

Our ancestors did not say in vain, "He who rides another's horse gets off quickly." Those who have ridden their own security and administration on someone else's horse for years have now begun to realize that the reins of that horse are not in their own hands. With what face will such a Europe attempt to lecture Turkey? With what logic will it try to adjust the Turkish state? With what audacity will it speak ill of our nation's values and our state's offices? How can those who struggle to close their own security gaps dare to question the security policies of the Turkish state while being kept waiting at alliance tables?

CRITICISM OF EUROPE REGARDING TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS

For years, they waved the rags of treacherous terrorist organizations that pointed their barrels at Turkish soldiers in European capitals. They gladly embraced the remnants of FETÖ who sought the life of the Turkish nation. While they became a wall in front of our children who went to get an education and were going to return, and while our entrepreneurs who wanted to grow their businesses established in Turkey in Europe were counting the days until they could leave, they lent an ear to the slightest word to be said against Turks and Turkey. They became a nest and a home for networks of sedition. Do those who turn a blind eye to the poisonous language of hostility have the face to pass judgment on Turkish nationalism? Do those who struggle against migration pressure on their own continent have the right to lecture Turkey, which has opened its doors to millions of oppressed people for years, on humanity? Do those who have tied their own security to the decisions of the United States have a word to object to our Blue Homeland ideal and our maritime jurisdiction areas that are as clear as day in the Eastern Mediterranean?

This miserable picture before us is now clear beyond interpretation. Today, on one side of this picture is Europe, which is forced to accept Turkey's weight within NATO, its rise in the defense industry, its role in migration management, its place in energy routes, and its geopolitical value extending from the Black Sea to the Caucasus and from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Middle East. On the other side is Europe, which targets the Turkish judiciary, smears our Ülkü Ocakları (Idealist Hearths), which is the light of our eyes, looks down on our Blue Homeland cause, and ignores the sovereign equality of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the existence of Turkish Cypriots. We will confront anyone who attempts to object to Turkey's sovereign territory. We will teach those who try to stand up to the Turkish nation who we are by hitting them over the head.

EU'S UNFULFILLED COMMITMENTS

The history of Turkey-Europe relations is also full of these contradictions. Turkey's relationship with Europe did not begin yesterday. The application process that started in 1959 gained a legal basis with the 1963 Ankara Agreement. The 1970 Additional Protocol, the 1995 Customs Union, the acceptance of candidacy status at the 1999 Helsinki Summit, and the start of negotiations in 2005 are the milestones of this long road. However, instead of properly fulfilling the promises made to Turkey, the European Union has surrendered the process to the narrow calculations of some members, Greek-Cypriot vetoes, political prejudices, and rusted ideological templates. Visa liberalization has been kept waiting for years. The updating of the Customs Union has been dragged out at a snail's pace. Negotiation chapters have been blocked for political reasons. Candidate country status has often been left on paper. Since 2018, negotiations have effectively come to a standstill. Now, the same European Parliament is standing up and lecturing Turkey on reform, law, and good neighborliness. What kind of blindness is this? What kind of lawlessness is this?

EP TURKEY REPORT

As our Prophet Muhammad advised us, keeping promises is part of faith. How will the infidels, who have not received their share of the light of Islam, have turned their backs on the climate of mercy of justice, and express their centuries-old prejudices against the Muslim Turkish nation at every opportunity, know loyalty? How will we explain that a word is a matter of honor to those who remain silent when our mosques are attacked, to those who market vile provocations against our holy book, the Quran, under the name of freedom of expression, to the heedless who ignore the struggle of our veiled women to live their faith, and to the troublemakers who watch the rising Islamophobia in European cities with pleasure? How will those who took the Greek-Cypriot side into the European Union as the representative of the whole island in Cyprus understand respect for justice? A straight line cannot come from a crooked ruler. The European Parliament's 2025 Turkey Report is a text drawn with this crooked ruler. This report may not be binding. But it is a document that should be carefully considered in terms of the political intention it carries. One of the most serious sections of the report is the attempt to blockade our judicial power. The impudent, perverse, and desperate language of error extended toward Turkey's judiciary cannot be interpreted as ordinary criticism. Interpreting ongoing judicial processes with political motives and attempting to direct independent Turkish courts is a desire for tutelage and a desire for domination. The supreme Turkish judiciary does not make decisions under the auspices of reports written in Brussels halls. The Republic of Turkey cannot be brought into line by having its face turned to the West with the threats, suggestions, and hints of discipline of external actors. Everyone will watch their step, know their place, and learn their position well. Whoever attempts to adjust us from across the border will learn, one way or another, not to look askance at the freedom and sovereignty of the Republic of Turkey.

This issue is not new. Yesterday, there were those who tried to open a file on the Ülkü Ocakları in Washington. Today, there are those who attach the same smear campaign to the lines of the report in Brussels. Yesterday, in the United States House of Representatives, an unreasonable clause was attempted to be inserted into the 2022 National Defense Authorization Act, which envisioned investigating whether the Ülkü Ocakları was a terrorist organization."
