Breaking News... Illegal betting operation in 11 provinces: 68 suspects in custody

Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek announced that an operation was carried out in 11 provinces as part of investigations into illegal betting and smuggling.

According to Gürlek's statement, the operations were conducted under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices of Istanbul, Antalya, and Gaziantep. The Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command, along with the Antalya and Gaziantep Provincial Police Departments, participated in the efforts.

The operations targeted 77 suspects. It was reported that 68 suspects have been taken into custody so far, while efforts to apprehend the remaining 9 suspects are ongoing.

"This morning, under the coordination of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices in Istanbul, Antalya, and Gaziantep; an operation was carried out across 11 provinces by our Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command and our Antalya and Gaziantep Provincial Police Departments, targeting 77 suspects. So far, 68 suspects have been taken into custody, and efforts to apprehend 9 suspects are continuing."
