Breaking News: Interim ruling announced in the Bahar Aksu murder case! Confession from the killer

As the repercussions of the brutal murder that took place in Şişli, Istanbul, on May 5 continue, the perpetrator of the incident, Rüstem Elibol, and three individuals alleged to have assisted him appeared before a judge for the first time today.

The 4 defendants, who are being tried on charges of murdering Bahar Aksu with a firearm in the middle of the street, were present at the hearing held at the Istanbul Courthouse 4th High Criminal Court in Çağlayan.

CASE ADJOURNED TO JUNE 25

The court panel decided to continue the detention of the four defendants and adjourned the hearing to June 25, 2025, for the completion of missing items in the case file and for the suspects to present their defenses.

According to a report by Meral Danyıldız from Sözcü, it was stated that Rüstem Elibol, who killed Bahar Aksu, confessed in court that he wanted to kidnap Bahar.

In his statement in court, Elibol noted the following:

"I BROUGHT MY FRIENDS TO FIND A HOUSE"

"From the date we married until the date we divorced, we married with great love. We had a happy marriage. I learned that my wife had a child. I did not use violence during my marriage. I loved and valued her. I arrived in Istanbul in the evening. The incident developed this way. My friends have no fault. I came to Istanbul with the intention of reconciling with my wife. I wanted to rent a house and reconcile and remarry. Bahar was not aware of this. When she asked me, 'Are you a man?', the incident occurred."

I brought my friends with me to find a house. I wanted to build a life with my wife. To the question, "Did you look at any houses?", he replied that he looked on the streets.

We looked at houses for rent on the streets. We never met with a real estate agent, nor did we look at any specific house.

When I encountered Bahar, I told her I wanted to reconcile. I wanted to put her in the vehicle. She did not want to come. When she said, "Are you a man?", I lost control. That is how the incident happened."

Elibol responded to the questions of the Presiding Judge with the following words:

"I WAS GOING TO TAKE HER TO A VINEYARD HOUSE"

-Where did the weapon you had with you come from?

I bought it on the internet. 3-4 months ago.

-If you came to look for a house, why did you bring a weapon?

I absolutely had no intention of killing. I love my wife. I came with the intention of reconciling with my wife.

-Then why was the weapon with you?

(He cannot answer.)

-Did you have a kidnapping plan?

I did. The place I was going to take her was a vineyard house.

HE CHANGED HIS STATEMENT

Rüstem Elibol stated that the defendants who helped him were aware of the incident. However, the defendants Aziz Başkan, Samet Salman, and Semih Yapar claimed in their statements that they were not aware of the incident or the unlicensed weapon. Upon this, Rüstem Elibol changed his statement by saying, "That is correct."

Upon the Presiding Judge's question, "If you were not aware of the incident, why did you go there?", Semih Yapar defended himself with the claim, "We did what we were told. I was sleepy. I was not myself. I had no idea. I would never do such a thing to a woman."
