A fire that broke out on a moving metrobus in Halıcıoğlu, Istanbul, has been extinguished by fire crews.
The fire started for an as-yet-undetermined reason in the engine compartment of a metrobus traveling toward Mecidiyeköy in the Halıcıoğlu area. The dense smoke caused by the fire spread to the surrounding area.
Upon notification, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished by the fire crews.
Metrobus services were disrupted due to the fire. Following the extinguishing of the fire, services began to operate via a single lane.
Traffic congestion also occurred on the D-100 highway in the Halıcıoğlu-Okmeydanı area.
Cooling efforts by the fire crews on the metrobus are continuing.
