The Ministry of National Defense's statement regarding the matter included the following:

"An NF-5 aircraft belonging to our Air Force, which was conducting a training flight in Konya, crashed for an unknown reason at 12:51.

The pilot of our aircraft that crashed survived by ejecting and has been transported to the hospital.

A personnel member who was performing runway repair work in the area where the aircraft crashed was martyred.

The necessary investigation into the matter has been initiated."
