The Ministry of Interior has appointed Akdeniz District Governor Zeyit Şener as a trustee to the DEM Party-run Akdeniz Municipality. DEM Party Akdeniz Municipality co-mayors Hoşyar Sarıyıldız and Nuriye Arslan had been arrested as part of a counter-terrorism operation.

Hoşyar Sarıyıldız and Nuriye Arslan, the co-mayors of the Mersin Akdeniz Municipality run by the DEM Party, along with 4 municipal council members, have been arrested.

The Ministry of Interior has appointed Akdeniz District Governor Zeyit Şener as a trustee to the Akdeniz Municipality.

Akdeniz Municipality has become the 9th municipality to have a trustee appointed since the March 31 elections.
