Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, son of arrested Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek — who is subject to a detention order as part of a bribery investigation — was taken into custody at the airport the moment he returned from abroad.
Mustafa Gökhan Böcek, son of Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek who was arrested in the framework of a bribery investigation conducted by the Antalya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was detained at Antalya Airport upon returning from a trip abroad.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Antalya Metropolitan Mayor Muhittin Böcek had been arrested on 5 July. Following his arrest, Böcek was removed from his post as Antalya Metropolitan Mayor by the Ministry of Interior.
Zeynep Kerimoğlu, Böcek's former daughter-in-law who was also taken into custody alongside him, had been released subject to a travel ban.
Meanwhile, Muhittin Böcek's daughter-in-law Zuhal Böcek also remains under arrest.
