Breaking News: New development in operation targeting CHP-run Buca Municipality
In a bribery investigation targeting Buca Municipality in İzmir, 26 people detained over allegations of issuing irregular permits in zoning and planning procedures have been referred to the courthouse.
Within the scope of the investigation conducted by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was alleged that certain zoning and planning applications at Buca Municipality were given a legal appearance in exchange for bribes, despite being contrary to regulations. According to the allegations, unfair gains were obtained through this method.
As part of the investigation, an operation was carried out on February 2 against 28 individuals for whom detention warrants had been issued. During the operation, 26 suspects, including Buca Municipality Licensing and Inspection Manager İ.B., were detained.
While it was determined that one of the suspects is abroad, it was reported that efforts to apprehend a total of two individuals are ongoing.
The 26 suspects, whose procedures were completed at the İzmir Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, were referred to the courthouse this morning. It was learned that investigations regarding the case are continuing.
