Breaking news: New development regarding Ahmet Kurtuluş, who was taken into custody!
Kadıköy Municipality Council 1st Deputy Speaker Ahmet Kurtuluş has been referred to court with a request for judicial control due to his remarks directed at AKP council member Elif Bilgili.
Discussions at the Kadıköy Municipality escalated following remarks made by Council 1st Deputy Speaker Ahmet Kurtuluş toward AKP Group Deputy Chair Elif Lale Bilgili. Following this incident, an investigation was launched against Kurtuluş on charges of 'misconduct in office' and 'obstruction of freedom of expression,' and he was taken into custody.
The incident occurred during the third session of the Kadıköy Municipal Council's March meetings. After speeches by CHP members, Bilgili took the floor, and as she continued her speech, Kurtuluş reminded her that each speaker had a five-minute time limit. Stating that Bilgili's time had expired, Kurtuluş turned off the microphone and requested that the broadcast be cut. This situation led to a reaction from Bilgili, and the argument intensified.
Following Kurtuluş's words, "This is not the way. This cannot happen like this. Let's take her out, throw her out, for God's sake. We have finally reached this point," Bilgili left the hall. Following these developments, Kurtuluş was referred to court by the prosecutor's office with a request for judicial control.
