Breaking News... New drug operation targeting celebrities

As part of a prohibited substance investigation launched by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting celebrities, famous names such as Mabel Matiz and Serenay Sarıkaya have been detained. In addition to Mabel Matiz, detention warrants were issued for 25 people in the investigation.

The following statement was made by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the operation:

'Within the scope of the fight against drugs that threaten public health and safety, in the investigations conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, with the operations recently carried out by our law enforcement forces and reflected in the public eye, on one hand, a large quantity of cocaine that was attempted to be brought into our country by sea from abroad was seized before it reached the shore; on the other hand, drug manufacturing sites were identified, many drug dealers in different districts of Istanbul were arrested, and the seized drugs and other items constituting a crime were confiscated.

In another investigation conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting individuals who facilitate drug use, provide premises for it, and use drugs, as well as those who trade and manufacture drugs, within the framework of the evidence obtained, instructions were given to the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command on 21/05/2026 for the detention, search, biological examination, and taking of statements of 25 suspects.
